The firm defends clients before consumer protection bodies and courts, and also undertakes analysis of contractual clauses in order to eliminate or mitigate the risks in relation to the Consumer Protection Code. In one particular instance, the firm was called upon to advise a global bank in its efforts towards global compliance with consumer laws, a situation that required the revamping of the bank’s local code of conduct in order to be in compliance with local laws.
The firm also represents clients before Brazil’s Antitrust Board (CADE), the Economic Law Bureau (SDE) and the Secretariat for Economic Monitoring (SEAE) in identifying monopolistic actions, in taking administrative proceedings, and in offering consultation services. In addition, we offer consultation services, analyzing contracts and trading practices so as to bring them into line with Brazilian antitrust legislation.
