Our firm has a long experience in business recovery proceedings in Brazil. We were involved in the now-extinct court-supervised agreements with creditors (known in Brazil as concordatas), bankruptcies and, more recently, in judicial or extrajudicial restructuring.
With our strategic outlook and experience in the use of alternative dispute resolution methods, we provide complete guidance for the entrepreneur or company in crisis, including in debt restructuring.
Currently, Samantha Mendes Longo is deputy secretary of the Recovery Commission for the Federal Council of the Brazilian Bar Association (OAB), which was chaired for many years by Arnoldo Wald Filho. Samantha is also a member of the group created by the National Justice Council (CNJ) to debate and suggest measures to modernize and increase the effectiveness of the Judiciary’s role in court-ordered restructuring and bankruptcy processes and is a professor of the judicial administrators training course of the Judicial Administration School (ESAJ) of the State Court of Rio de Janeiro (TJRJ).
